Day 1 • Arrive Tokyo
Check into your deluxe accommodations.
Day 2 • Tokyo AB
Today, tour the Tokyo Tower and enjoy the panoramic views from the Observation Deck. Then visit the Meiji Shrine and drive by the Akasaka Guest house and National Diet Building. Followed by a visit to the Imperial Palace East Garden and the Ginza shopping district where you are given free time to explore on your own.
Day 3 • Tokyo / Mt Fuji / Tokyo AB, L
A highlight of your trip today as you drive to Mount Fuji, with a stop at the 5th station for panoramic views (weather permitting). Proceed to Hakone and enjoy the Hakone Sky Gondra, visit Owakudani Boiling Valley and a boat cruise on Lake Ashi. Later return to your hotel for the remainder of the day is at leisure.
Day 4 • Tokyo / Nagoya / Takayama AB
This morning depart Tokyo for an exciting train to Takayama with a transfer at Nagoya station. Check into your hotel with the remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 5 • Takayama AB
This morning enjoy an early morning tour of the famous Takayama Market. Following breakfast enjoy a full day walking tour to Jinya Manor House, Kusakabe Folk Museum and views of the past of Old private houses. Followed by a visit to the Takayama Festival Floats Exhibition Hall and the Archeological Museum.
Day 6 • Takayama / Shirakawago Village-Kanazawa AB
Today a special treat to a UNESCO world heritage site (Shirakawa-Go-Ogimachi Gassho-Zukuri Village). Continue on to the Outdoor Museum Gassho Folk Museum, the Wada House, Myozenji Temple Museum. Later leave Shirakawago for Kanazawa.
Day 7 • Kanazawa / Kyoto AB
See one of the most celebrated Japanese gardens Kenrokuen Garden" followed by Samurai Houses and a visit to Kutani-Yaki Pottery Kiln shop. Leave Kanazawa by train for Kyoto.
Day 8 • Kyoto AB
After breakfast, tour renowned Nijo Castle, Kinkakuji Temple's Golden Pavilion, Kyoto Imperial Palace and the Kyoto Handicraft Center.
Day 9 • Kyoto AB
Today is free at your leisure. Perhaps join an optional tour.
Day 10 • Kyoto AB
After breakfast, bid farewell to Japan.
